Apkite announces their new website online in test phase. Altough not all the functions are yet available for technical reasons, you can already watch it at www.apkite.pt

As an essential comunnication instrument for this Association, the goal is to keep the community and the general public informed about the national kitesurf, landboard, kitebuggy and acrobatic kites.

One of the news is the "Forum APkite". This is not just another general news forum but more of a tool to have a direct and fluid communication with the Association partners.

KITE  MASTERS - PORTIMÃO WORLD TOUR'08

The world's best athletes are back to Portugal from to 13 July!

Started the Kite Masters - Portimão World Tour 08, that brings the best riders in the world again to Portugal for the 3rd stage of the World Championship in Race and Freestyle.

This year the Kite Master count on a global prize-money of 31000 dollars that will be searched for the best athletes.

It will also happen the Freestyle Kite Masters. This is a special competition in Freestyle that gathers 16 of the best riders in the world and four Portuguese wildcards. The riders will have a championship style competition to crown the real "Freestyle Master"

Among the Portuguese will be Rui Pedro Meira (world top 5 in 2007), the Portuguese champions João Fontainhas, the local rider Fábio Martins, that placed well in 5th place in the national, and 2 young bloods , Gonçalo Gomes and Danilo Nacarato.

VIII Festival Internacional de Papagaios de Alcochete

June 27th to 29th will happen another edition of the Festival Internacional de Papagaios de Alcochete (FIPA), at Praia dos Moinhos.
 

A lot of activities will wait the public and the participants, that will come from France, Switzerland, Germany, England, Italy, Brazil, New Zealand, Canarys, China and obviously  Portugal:

- Static/decoration kites

- Acrobatic kites
- Wind Gardens
- Chinese kites exposition
- Soncronized flights

- Night flight exibhition

- Kitesurf
- Workshops
 

The Wind Catchers will be there and we're counting on everyone to fill up this event that counts already on it 8th edition

II Grândola Air Festival

The Wind Catchers will be associated once again with Grândola City Hall, this time at the Second Grândola Air Festival, happening the next May 10\11th

From 10am to 7pm we can find a lot of activities there:

- Demos and raids with Paragliding

- Acrobatic RC planes

. Acrobatic kites exhibition

- Kitesurf downwind

Simultaneously , all visitors can participate in several workshops of RC planes, acrobatic kites and Kitesurf, and more!! Beach animation, Traditional games, Therapeutic and relaxation Massage and several demonstrations of gear related to the activities around.
